We estimate that, since 1998, over 300,000 people have been treated, and the Gospel preached to 50,000. A number of new churches have been planted.
We carried out 7 missions to rural Guyana, working with Pastor Yasin from 1999 to 2007. ‘Guyana’ means ‘land of many waters’ as you have to travel by boat to go anywhere! Many journeys were very long, always open to the elements!
Between 2001 to 2016 we worked in the poor southern island of Mindanao in the Philippines, initially with Pastors Boni and Odette, and more recently with their son Joshua, and daughter-in-law Amette. We have trained a team to continue the work. Some villages were very hard to access!
From 2004 until 2016 we worked with Pastor Emmanuel and Florence in Uganda. We worked with local faithful people including Aisha, Frank and Lydia, carrying out missions in poor rural areas. They continue to carry out village missions every 3-4 weeks, also preaching the Gospel.
We gave away thousands of pairs of reading glasses, resulting in profound joy in those who received them!
We still help Pastor Azariah in the poor western area of Uganda with his school, which now has over 100 pupils.
Since 2016 our main work has been with Pastor Alexandre and Pastor Dan in eastern Congo. We support a school, a feeding programme and we have recently opened a 24 bedded clinic/small hospital there, in the border town of Kasindi.
A very significant part of our work has been due to this creature. Arguably the most deadly living being on earth, it’s injecting proboscis draws blood from us humans, and in the process, spreads malaria.
Children are especially vulnerable, particularly when weakened though poor diet, intestinal worms and concurrent respiratory infections. Yet treating all of these costs pence and truly saves lives.
In 2017 we wrote ‘5 loaves and 2 fishes’, a book describing many of our mission stories. We have seen God do some amazing miracles!
